Stfcatfish, good point didn't intend to hijack the thread. Always feel free to give it a header, zip it into another forum or the like. I have full faith in your moderation skills.

Just saw you were on line on this thread and was looking for your specific feedback. Hans

Better thought-didn't mean to leave you with all the work. What's the quickest way to move a post to another thread?

So does this mean you have started to cary 84 different keys on a retractable lanyard clipped to your belt?

No bubba, HSO/FM has reduced the number of keys into a single master key. We just call it the "edit" button.

Saw two snowmobilers roar by on the west end of Burntside this evening. Ice was strong enough that they ran within a hundred feet of open water at the mouth of the Tamarack river. (Locals refer to this as "natural selection" in action).

[PoorWordUsage] eating grins through their helmets -- must have been making at least 75 MPH, and judging by the engine noise they were revving up to 6000+ RPM when they hit wet slippery spots. In any case I hope they had a good time because they were using up good luck by the mile. Hans

The way those machines were flying, the ice didn't need to be very thick.

1/4 inch would have supported them.

Johnson Lake along HWY 21 was open as far as the eye could see this morning (usually the first lake to open in the area), One Pine is about half open, and my bay on Birch Lake is about 1/4 open.

What's the latest report on the mouth of the south kawisiwi as it dumps into White Iron? Is the public ramp off the west end iced in? What about ring rock narrows? And Silver Rapids? Thanks Hans

Everyone relax,

Most, if not all lakes, will be open by the 10th. \:\)

Unless we get three feet of snow tonight.
