how easy is it to get to. Never been on the lake. Any locations we should try on it? Are they good size or just alot of them. Any help would be great

Is there open water up there yet we just had a low of 21 last night and the small lakes around here had a thin coating of ice. Also was there alot a snow from this last storm that went up there?

Easy access just follow the channel. Size varies 10-15"
Try south side of island, just off the reeds! Can't help with ice question. Good luck
Try for Largemouth at every beaver hut you see!

Maps are very much available at all bait shops up north. Try Minnesota DNR website they may have maps their.

hey thanks for the info we will give child lake a try we will be there for a week and would like to fish it all. One of the days maybe more if they are biting will be for musky on Little boy but other then that any fish is good. We will check the One Stop when we get up there, is the bait shop in town still open?

You might hit the mayfly hatch that week. It depends on the weather but mayflies will SHUTDOWN fishing on Woman. The crappies are usually tough to get by mid june, and the smallies have been fished down. You will not have good luck with the smallies. I would try Inguadona for the crappies and probably Leech for the walleyes. I expect that the walleyes will be hot by mid june on leech! Woman is hit or miss. I know.

I didn't like that last post. The first time up to wabedo we got "there not biting" funning thing is we caught fish like crazy. so if we can get the "nope not biting" before we go it would be great. If we dont catch anything on woman girl child any of them we can go back to LB or Wabedo they will produce. thanks for the help so far any ideas will help

He might be right about the crappies and walleye but he 100% correct about the smallies, there are great smallies in Woman

When people say that the fish aren't bitin' it usually means not for them! Went to Woman last August and was told they weren't bitin' and the first evening I landed one of the nicest 'eyes I had ever caught. Managed to catch them every time we went out. I think sometimes you just have to be persistent and try a whole lot of stuff.

When they say they are not bitting I think they mean eater sized fish not the spawners most people keep!!!

hope you guys have the same time i had on opener over here. lots of fish some wind but if your catching them it does not matter. crappies and bass later in the day northern in the morning and evening. fun all day cant get much better then that. No walleye in the lake. They have been catching them on the rivers around here like crazy. Every place i went for work they would let me know What they were using where to go and times that were best. It seemed to work out to being when im at work or when i was picking the kids up
