The ice is pretty much gone on LOTW's near nestor falls area too. Alot of the smaller local lakes are wide open too. Crow Lake will be a few more days longer but I am sure it will be open by the 1st of May if we keep getting wind and rain mixed with some warmer weather.

So Dogtooth should be ice free pretty soon? Just trying to get a gauge on what we'll be looking at when we go up Memorial Day weekend.

Just talked to my parents who are at the cabin in Morson. They said that the wind is breaking the ice up in the bay. I would assume that the lake is not travelable by boat yet but this wind should speed the process.

My guess is that the Manitou will open up May 5-10. We just got 8" of snow and it is still snowing. So that is not helping any at the moment. I will post updates as conditions change.

I am guessing around May 2 at 7:15am for the stretch and May 4 11:30am for the big lake.

It will be close Matt, but I am planning on May 10 now for Pipetsone. I atlked with one of the pilots yesterday, and he said he saw a moose walking across the ice on Pipestone. If you make it, let us know.

Manitou is still pretty tight. A pilot flew over today and said it will be a while yet for the Manitou. The 13th will be touchy by the sounds of it. He will be flying almost daily and I can give an update when he sees some changes. Pipestone is partially out, but should be pretty much ice free by the weekend hopefully.

Got an e-mail from Rough Rock Lodge up on the Winnipeg River yesterday. They said that Big and Little Sand were still frozen and they had to crunch throuh a little ice to get to the resort, but everything else was open.
