like a few of the guys said the Dt baits are prone to the lips cracking.I was on pepin last weekend and threw the Dt fat for a bit and cracked the lip on a tree branch.

Hey Carl,

I'm going to school at the University of Iowa. Iowa doesn't have a closed season for bass, so I've been fishing down here. I also was in Indiana earlier this month for a tournament.

I won't be at the Deer Lake tournament, School doesn't get out until the 16th for me...

I wasn't too fond of the sure sets on the DT-7. I was walking it across the rocks and couldn't keep the belly hook clean to save my life. Maybe I alone on this one. I do like the action a lot though.

I picked up a DT 6 with the sure set hooks, and a DT 7 Flat with the sure set hooks today. I've had good luck with the 16's.

I like the DT baits alot but like previously said the lips do seem to break easily on them. Hopefully rapala will take note of that and make them stronger!

Have you guys tried returning the ones with broken lips?

I just bought a buncha DR flats, fats, and standard cranks. replaced all the belly hooks (sure set) with normal trebles. Not sure I like the look of the SS hooks. Never used them though, do you guys like them?

Havent used them but I have heard nothing but good reports. One guy in my bass club told me he was putting sure sets on all his crankbaits, on the back I think.

The sure set hooks do work well, however do pick up a few more weeds. And if you use the right gear for cranking the sure sets arent needed. Of all the crank hooks on the market, the only I dont like are the tripple grips...

I too agree with CB- I think part of the reason the cranks work like they do is how the lip is made. Which does make it a little more fragile. I have yet to break a bill on normal wear and tear... just when I slap the water trying to clear weeds... so I dont do that anymore 8-)

Ike, I dont know what to say, maybe is because he gets paid to fish them? I have other friends who love them as well. I had 2 tournaments where I know I lost some fairly good coin becuase of them though, I lost all confidence in them. So any bait with them on get pulled now.
