Correct Les, is a Woman. She is also the ATVAM Director at large and the current President of Red River Riders ATV out of Fargo/Moorhead. Les is a good friend of mine and I try and answer everyone’s questions as fast as I can as I live about 7 blocks from Les and the former Vice President of Red River Riders and a currently on the board of Directors.
As I am sure most of you here realize that this is all being put on by Volunteers. Les as well as many people working on this have full time jobs as well. They are trying to keep communication as high as possible and if anyone still has any un-answered questions feel free to email me at info@redriverridersatv dot org and I will gladly get the answers for you if I do not have them already.
This will be a great time for all, not to mention there will be lots of great trail riding and camaraderie as well as your chance to say you helped set a Guinness Book Record. There have been over 4000 visits to the atvparade .com website since my fiancée put it on line a couple of Months ago. It would not surprise me if that number doubles in the near future because it is getting warm out.
So if anyone has any questions please ask, I usually check this forum at least every other day if not every day.

Who puts up the atvam website? Who is in charge of the merchandise they sell?
This being the 25th anniversary, there should be some things with the new logo on it. This would bring in some revenue that is much needed. I emailed the Phill Morud about it and no response. I may have something wrong with my email though. I haven't gotten a response about the atv fair either. The site has needed an update for the last couple years. I thought this would be the year.
Thanks for coming to FM and sharing with us Paul.

I would like to post a letter from Les she sent me with info regarding the ATV Parade. I mentioned to her some of the concerns I have been seeing and hearing from others. Here is what she sent me:
Update on ATV Parade
Hi Everybody
The ATV Parade Committee would like to give you a quick update. In talking to people around the state, we hear a lot of excitement so you have been doing a good job in getting the word out and we thank you for that.
We would like to let everybody know that there is ample parking. We will be able to use the city streets for parking then get on the trail and ride out to the staging area of the parade. There are several dirt roads that lead off from the staging area that we are going to use and we have access to several parking lots around town so again there is going to be enough parking for everybody. The parade route is going to be a designated ATV trail for the day so kids can participate as long as they meet MN State requirements for riding on trails.
Side x Sides or Three wheelers will not count towards our numbers according to Guinness Book of World Records but will be allowed in the parade.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
Friday June 13, 2008 6:00 – 9:00PM Registration
Saturday June 14, 2008 8:00AM Registration 8:00AM Staging for Parade (please come early so we have time to setup the ATV’s) 11:15AM ATV Parade 3:00 – 6:00PM All you can eat buffet for $10.00 a person at the Union Hall provided by Zup’s of Silver Bay 7:00 – 9:00PM Famous ATVAM auction 9:00 – 12:00PM Dance to the “Northern Lights” 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s
Please bring a canned good or staple item to donate to the Silver Bay food bank. We will be collecting them at the parade site.
Also if you have an antique 3 wheeler or 4 wheeler that you would like to display for us to enjoy please bring them.

We will be able to use the city streets for parking then get on the trail and ride out to the staging area of the parade. There are several dirt roads that lead off from the staging area that we are going to use and we have access to several parking lots around town so again there is going to be enough parking for everybody. I'll have to bow out of this one. Jr. has his football schedule for this fall and we'll be spending a large amount of time on the road this fall driving to Ely 4 times, Thief River Falls, Willmar, St Cloud State, Brainerd, and Virginia. We'll need to stock pile the funds for gas. I sure hope the price of gas goes down a little.

If anyone is looking for updates, An update page has been added to the Atvparade website. It answers a lot of the questions peopel have been asking. Also once again, if you plan on attending, I would recomend pre-registration. One of the main overlooked reasons for this, PORTA-POTTIES. They need to plan for the crowd correctly. IF everyone just kinda shows up with out any indication you are coming, things can be a mess.
Also: Red River Riders ATV Club from Moorhead and Metro Trail Riders (I think that name is correct) are going to do a ride on Sunday also if anyone wants to join. Check out redriverridersatv org for details about that ride closer to the date.

Now that the weather has turned a little nicer, have many more of you considered joining this event? I wonder what the number of participants is up to? -Later1

Last Pre-registration number I heard as of 2 weeks ago was almost 900. That was as of 2 weeks ago and they were coming in pretty steady as of then.

Anybody know of any nearby camping left available? I would like to attend but don't want to have to drive an hour from the campsite.

Sounds like the only thing left would be in the first come first server spots in the National Forest or State Forest. If you call the camp sites on the website you may find room. site is atvparade.com look under lodging.
