Since I have obligations the following few weekends, I now have to put the ice gear away. But, I did put together a little video recapping last weekend trip up north in search of late ice panfish. It was a good weekend for myself and Lip Em. Most of the fish we caught were not on film. Using the underwater camera while recording was actually tough. The image was more blurred and shaky so I actually couldn't see a lot of bites. And we faced some low light conditions. Overall, not a bad weekend. Lots of big gills and crappies. Some pumpkinseeds and a couple bullhead. One pike, despite a couple sightings. And a couple bass. I can't wait to go back next year. If I could record after dark (the light scares the crappies), we would have had one heck of a show!

A great way to end the ice season, buddy. Internet high five . Now we can turn our focus to sturgeon, doubling up on gobblers again, then walleyes, then bass, more panfish.......before you know it we will be hunting curly tails over decoys. It gets a little cluttered just thinking about it but I wouldn't have it any other way!

The best decoy I have found for mallards is a mountain dew and a turkey with cheese sandwich!
