Hello all,

I am still trying to find a good place to launch my 14 foot fishing boat. I haven't launched a boat in 10 years, so I am looking for a less-busy ramp on the river along the Minn/Wis border.

Anyone put in at Diamond Bluff? I wonder if it is busy and/or ice free.

Tom

Hastings access is empty and clear of ice, I know two boats have launched there since Saturday. Prescott launch has a small fee may have some boats today and this weekend. I am not sure of any others, I think you are talking about diamond bluff south of prescott, haven't been near there for a few months. I would say Hastings would be your best bet until Fishing Opener in May. FYI... there is a little downstream current in Hastings that can make it tricky if you are by yourself or you can't remember all those old tricks to get your boat on straight. Hubs landing across the river will give you less current and smoother landing. Good luck.

Well, we put in Saturday in Prescott. Someone even threw down ice on the ramp. It was very cold and snowing, but it was nice to get out.

Does anyone know if there is any access to the Mississippi River backwater lakes near Hastings? I have a float tube, so I don't need much room to launch.

treasure island resort and casino, and many other back water access around on your way to there. Hand ful just on MN side and I think a couple on 'sconie side.
