I have been in contact with Les lately and exchanged emails ( met on another site). I have tried to contact the "Outdoor News" about this. I can't get a response. I thought they were ATV friendly?

Only a few months away guys. Should get registered.

Yes Please pre register. ATVAM and the ATV Parade Crew asked me last night at our meeting to let me know they are looking to get as many people as possible pre registered ahead of time so they can make plans for the amount of people coming. There is a resteraunt in Silver Bay going to be offering a all u can eat buffet dinner for $10 a head, and they are looking for aprox nubmers as well. The Bar is also hosting a dance that evening, with a good classic rock band. I beleive there will be a small cover charge for the band.

so Please PRE REGISTER.

Paul - I registered a week ago - can't wait - \:D

Will I be getting or need anything to prove registration. I am also assuming more info will come out as the date gets closer.

Reelemin, To answer your question I was told that you will be asked to sign in when you get to Silver Bay so you will get counted by Guiness then you will get everything you need then.

Do we have to have ATVAM memberships to participate?

NO. You do not have to be a member of ATVAM to participate. Though ATVAM would love to have you and at $20/year it is a steal.

why have this in northern mn where noone is going to see it, why not have it in downtown st.paul by the capitol and make a statment?

That would be pretty cool at the capitol, but we the point is to actually ride the ATV. HOw can you expect to have a great trail ride afterwards if you can't legally drive the ATV. For the Record the whole thing has to move a few feet I think. Would be pretty boring driving to ST Paul. Trying to find parking for 2500 ATV's, then not being able to drive them to the capitol without a really huge congressional headache.

But I have to admit, It would get peoples attention.

If it was there, I wouldn't be. I avoid the Cities as much as possible. I couldn't imagine with a trailer and trying to park somewhere.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but I received an email. In addition to what Paul said..........
-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hi Everybody

The ATV Parade Committee would like to give you a quick update. In talking to people around the state, we hear a lot of excitement so you have been doing a good job in getting the word out and we thank you for that.

We would like to let everybody know that there is ample parking. We will be able to use the city streets for parking then get on the trail and ride out to the staging area of the parade. There are several dirt roads that lead off from the staging area that we are going to use and we have access to several parking lots around town so again there is going to be enough parking for everybody. The parade route is going to be a designated ATV trail for the day so kids can participate as long as they meet MN State requirements for riding on trails.

"The schedule for the event is as follows:

Friday June 13, 2008

6:00 – 9:00PM Registration

Saturday June 14, 2008

8:00AM Registration

8:00AM Staging for Parade (please come early so we have time to setup the ATV’s)

11:15AM ATV Parade

3:00 – 6:00PM All you can eat buffet for $10.00 a person at the Union Hall provided by Zup’s of Silver Bay

7:00 – 9:00PM Famous ATVAM auction

9:00 – 12:00PM Dance to the “Northern Lights” 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s

Please bring a canned good or staple item to donate to the Silver Bay food bank. We will be collecting them at the parade site.

Also if you have an antique 3 wheeler or 4 wheeler that you would like to display for us to enjoy please bring them.

The committee is looking for help if you are interested in helping please contact me at

les-deb@cableone.net or 701-371-2855.

Thank you,

Les Schermerhorn and the ATV Parade Committee
