Agree with marine man and surface tension. Hallbergs sells what they term a leak proof pop rivet. I'm sure other shops have them to. Try and figure out what size hole it is and how deep of a rivet you'll need before you go with gas prices could save

If I remember correctly from doing my '81 Evinrude 35hp, the shift linkage is still attached. I was able to keep it attached and support the lower unit without getting it apart, so I don't know the trick to get it completely off.

I'm having a bit of trouble pulling the lower unit off my 84 Evinrude 35hp. Am installing new impeller - have removed all four bolts holding lower unit on, as well as nut in front of gear hub, and can only get the lower unit loose - it will not come

I fished shields last sun. I couldn't find any walleyes or crappies but I did catch 5 pike and 3 bass. That wind was brutal in the morning before the sun came out. All the other boats I talked to had only caught pike and bass too. I fished all depth

Everyone has given you some good advice so far. The thing that I would recommend is to buy a long rod. I prefer anything over 8'. I find that the longer rods make casting easier and the figure 8 more effective as you can go deeper and wider. Good luc
